Overview

The Tracking Operations pod sits within the Marketing Technology Operations team and is part of the broader Performance Marketing organization. The team focuses on the management of Uber's users marketing landing page experience. We are responsible for ensuring that users are directed to the correct destination using the appropriate linking methods and parameters—enabling accurate and meaningful campaign measurement. In this role, you own the deep technical troubleshooting to ensure flawless user experience via landing pages across platforms and devices. You will be the expert in setting up the best-in-class infrastructure of our linking strategy and the cornerstone of the Tracking team focusing on building seamless user landing pages across web and app. This role uses your technical skills working with app and web tracking technologies with a strong ability to understand the business impact of connecting data together. The team is highly operational, technical, and analytical, responsible for setting up accurate tracking with a gold-standard advisory mindset. A successful candidate is a proactive thinker with a solution-driven mindset, and is flexible, working in an agile, fast-paced environment. You have experience in the mobile marketing technology space, including MMPs, SDKs, deeplinking, universal links, app links, attribution, and more. You are comfortable working with various stakeholders, including marketing, engineering, and product teams, as well as external vendors. You proactively identify new areas for improvement that enhance tools, process quality, and reliability.

What You'll Do

Be the trusted advisor to the marketing teams, guiding them on proper tracking methods and best practices in Deeplinking, Universal Links, App Links, and MMP tracking. Own technical troubleshooting of the user landing page experience, showing analytical and problem-solving abilities to find the root cause of issues. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of MMPs and configure the data sharing pipeline via MMP ETL connectors and postback mechanisms from start to end with high-quality implementation that prevents data pollution and volatility. Connect multiple data sources to transform tracking technologies into actionable campaign insights using SQL. Support the development of automation solutions to streamline processes such as link testing, validation, maintenance, and ad partner configuration—leveraging both first- and third-party tools and technologies. Coordinate with vendor partners to ensure Uber's goals are met.

Basic Qualifications

Hands-on, practical experience with app tracking in a marketing context, with a strong emphasis on mobile deeplinking technologies. In-depth understanding of privacy regulations related to app tracking. Excellent solution-driven mindset with a can-do attitude; able to approach problems from multiple angles to find the most optimal solution. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong quantitative skills, with practical experience using SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools. Experience working with Jira or similar ticketing systems. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive consensus and deliver actionable results across highly cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

3 years of work experience in mobile MarTech or Adtech. Experience with MMPs such as AppsFlyer, Singular, Adjust, Branch, etc. is a plus. Experience with a wide range of ad partners and ad campaigns including social channels, programmatic, affiliates, email, influencers is a plus. Understanding web tracking is a plus. Excellent communication skills, especially in translating technical concepts for marketers and non-technical stakeholders—and vice versa. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, Advertising, Marketing or other disciplines with demonstrated technical exposure. Experience in customer support, service desk, or project management is a plus.

Compensation and Location

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD 124,000 per year to USD 130,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD 124,000 per year to USD 130,500 per year. All US locations may be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other compensation.
