Responsibilities
- Develop, schedule, and monitor social media content related to L3 and L2 emergencies on UNICEF’s global channels
- Create weekly reports on insights related to community engagement and online conversations about humanitarian issues
- Participate in coordination meetings to ensure social media content aligns with broader communication strategies
- Strengthen data analysis of digital content performance and community sentiment for specific emergencies
- Develop social media packages for cross-cutting humanitarian issues, ensuring alignment with advocacy and content teams
Qualifications
- University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing and executing social media strategies for large accounts (500K+ audience)
- Proven ability to communicate on complex humanitarian emergencies
- Strong copy-editing skills and ability to write engaging content under tight deadlines
- Extensive experience with major social media platforms including Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience optimizing YouTube channels and video content for social media
- Familiarity with tools such as Hootsuite, Emplifi, and Trello
- Awareness of social media communication behaviors in low- and middle-income regions
- Experience working with digital influencers
- Understanding of paid digital marketing and fundraising strategies
