Overview

Graphic Designer

Contract Duration: part time hours to start. Around 20 per week. Will ramp up to full time hours, then temp to hire.

Hours: 15-20 hours a week. Can work evenings or throughout the day. Most roles are hybrid. Work near a local office and come in. 3 days a week. 6-7 hours. One day assigned by the team and flexible on the other 2 days.

As they ramp up with more hours, then these hours can be done remotely. Flex to evening work as well.

Software/Tools: Adobe Suite.

Team Overview (size, culture, cross-functions): work with strat comm and marketing. 2 people in Stratcomm. Marketing has director, 2 junior marketing associates, and 2 regional marketing leads.

Job Overview: current client is city of big bear. Website redesign project.

90% of their work is engineering at WSC. 10% is the Strat comm and design team which helps with communication with the public. website design, PR, etc. Projects can be start to finish website design or could be just part of the site that speaks to the water component. They’ll also work on proposals where this designer works on graphics for proposals.

This role is part time for now due to the amount of work. This should ramp up as they win more bids. So could go to full time hours and then permanent on their payroll.

Required Functional Skills/Tools

  • Work with adobe design.
  • Strategic comms work is preferrable but not a must.
  • ADA compliance knowledge
  • Teams if they have experience with it is a plus.
  • AEC experience is ideal but not essential.
  • Proposal experience a plus.

Years of Experience Expectation:

Part-Time Graphic Designer (15–20 hours per week)

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will bring strong design skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in strategic communications
  • Website design and development
  • Content and development skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ADA compliance in digital and print design
  • Highly skilled in the complete Adobe Design Suite
  • Experience in consulting engineering or the water industry a plus
  • This role is being considered temp to hire with the potential to transition into full time within 3-6 months.
