Medical Librarian

Part-time

Responsibilities

• Manages/administers the print and digital libraries at Baptist Health Lexington to provide educational resource centers to improve quality of care and services to patients, staff, and the community based on thorough, timely, and accurate information and to promote professional growth and support of those involved with providing care.
• Monitors library operations including but not limited to interlibrary loan, circulation, cataloging, budget, storage and retrieval of archival materials and other library functions.
• Provides and trains staff on the use of electronic CE for physicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, physical therapists, and others.
• Supports Baptist Health and its affiliates as a consultant for library services.
• Maintains patient education and consumer health (print, electronic, digital/video) libraries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Certification by the Medical Library Association preferred
• Five (5) years library and three (3) years of hospital experience
• Knowledge of medical language or structure of scientific language
• Knowledge or digital literacy related to computer searches, communication technology and the storage/retrieval of print and digital resources
• Knowledge of adult learning principles
