Overview
Our Rhode Island healthcare client is seeking a part-time contract Multimedia Specialist to support its Marketing & Communications team. The role involves developing and producing multimedia content that enhances the organization’s brand and digital presence. Projects include videos, photography, animations, and graphics for campaigns, patient stories, fundraising efforts, social media, and other communications channels. From storyboarding and filming through editing and post-production, you will ensure content is on-brand, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals. The role collaborates closely with internal teams, external partners, and press/media to deliver accurate, compelling materials. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of multimedia experience, strong technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to manage multiple projects on deadline.
Position Summary: This role is responsible for developing and producing engaging multimedia content that effectively communicates the brand and enhances digital presence, with close collaboration across departments to create innovative solutions that resonate with the target audience. This individual provides imagery to press/media when suitable and represents the company with accurate and positive material. Videos will include patient experience stories, medical expert interviews, fundraising videos, b-roll for in-house archiving and media sharing, as well as campaign/branding videos, in collaboration with the head of media.

Must be available on an as-needed basis and able to go onsite when required.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree Required (Multimedia, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field).
Experience
3–5 years of experience in multimedia production. Experience with photography, videography, and animation for various platforms.
Portfolio
A robust portfolio showcasing diverse multimedia projects that demonstrate skill and experience.
Licensure/Certification
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Animate, and Audition.
- Knowledge of web development (HTML/CSS).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- A strong eye for design principles and visual communication.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with diverse teams across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA and best practices.
Essential Functions
- Create multimedia content for a variety of media platforms.
- Apply visual design best practices to static and interactive elements (graphics, videos, animations, interactive simulations) while maintaining branding/graphics standards.
- Plan and execute media production (scheduling, setup, lighting, shooting, editing with brand-appropriate logos, fonts, graphics, titling, music, and packaging).
- Possess graphic design, typography, video, and multimedia development skills.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous projects to meet targets, on schedule and on budget.
- Perform usability testing and quality assurance of media elements before release and ensure accessibility for all users.
- Provide initial conception (storyboarding) and estimates for media development; develop layouts and concept designs for approvals; assist with storyboards and scripts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on planning, content, production level, platforms, turnaround time, corrections, approvals, and estimates.
- Leverage analytics to determine effectiveness and drive continual improvements.
- Complete and balance multiple projects with strong conceptual and analytical skills, planning abilities, and sound judgment.
- Notify the manager of problems and priorities to ensure timely completion; maintain confidentiality of hospital information; perform other duties as requested.
- Create engaging still photography and video content, including filming, editing, and post-production.
- Manage and maintain multimedia equipment and software; ensure all content aligns with branding and messaging.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest multimedia technologies and trends.
- Coordinate with external vendors and freelancers as needed; provide technical support for multimedia issues.
- Record and edit audio clips for presentations; collaborate effectively with team members on all projects.
- Must have own transportation for travel to company properties and, on occasion, external locations to highlight programs and services.
