Our Rhode Island healthcare client is seeking a part-time contract Multimedia Specialist to support its Marketing & Communications team. In this role, you will develop and produce engaging multimedia content that enhances the organizations brand and digital presence. Projects include creating videos, photography, animations, and graphics for campaigns, patient stories, fundraising efforts, social media, and other communications channels. From storyboarding and filming through editing and post-production, youll ensure all content is on-brand, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals. This role collaborates closely with internal teams, external partners, and press/media to deliver accurate, compelling materials. The ideal candidate brings 35 years of multimedia experience, strong technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to manage multiple projects on deadline.

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for developing and producing engaging multimedia content that effectively communicates our brand message and enhances our digital presence. Close collaboration with various departments to create innovative solutions that resonate with our target audience. This individual is responsible for providing press/media with imagery when suitable and represents the company and all operating units with accurate and positive material. Videos will include, patient experience stories, medical expert interviews, fundraising videos, b-roll for in-house archiving and to share with the media, as well as campaign/branding videos, with our head of media as this person collaborates with her on all seeking out what is meaningful and making the voices and choices of the organization heard.

Hours: Must be available on an as-needed basis and be able to go onsite when needed.

Education: Bachelors Degree Required (Multimedia, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field).

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in multimedia production. Experience with photography, videography, and animation for various platforms.

Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing diverse multimedia projects that demonstrate skill and experience.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Animate, and Audition.
  • Knowledge of web development (HTML/CSS)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • A strong eye for design principles and visual communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with diverse teams across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and best practices

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Create multimedia content for a variety of media platforms.
  • Apply visual design best practice principles to the design and development of static and interactive elements (graphics, videos, animations, interactive simulations, etc.), while maintaining the companys branding/graphics standards.
  • Creates (everything from scheduling, to set-up, lighting, shooting, editing (complete with brand appropriate logos, fonts, graphics, titling, music, and packaging)
  • Possess graphic design, typography, video, and multimedia development skills.
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous projects to reach targets, staying on schedule and on budget.
  • Perform usability testing and quality assurance of media elements used across platforms before release
  • Ensure media is accessible for all users, including those with disabilities.
  • Provide initial conception (storyboarding, etc.) and estimates for media development.
  • Develop layout and concept designs for approvals. Assist in developing storyboards and scripts.
  • Collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, on all aspects of projects, including planning, content, production level, and platforms, turnaround time, corrections, approvals, and project estimates.
  • Leverage analytics to determine the effectiveness of activities and make continual improvements.
  • Complete and balance multiple projects demonstrating strong conceptual and analytical skills, planning abilities, and sound judgment.
  • Notifies the manager of problems and priorities related to ensuring completion of projects in a timely manner. Preserves and protects the confidentiality of hospital information. Performs other job-related duties as requested.
  • Create engaging still photography and video content, including filming, editing, and post-production.
  • Manage and maintain all multimedia equipment and software.
  • Ensure all multimedia content aligns with the organization's branding and messaging.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest multimedia technologies and trends.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and freelancers when necessary.
  • Provide technical support for multimedia-related issues.
  • Record and edit audio clips for multimedia presentations
  • Must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with team members on all projects
  • Must have own transportation for travel to the companys properties for various projects. On occasion, this role will travel to external locations to highlight our programs and services.
