If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and/or AMTA-approved program
  • Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
  • 2 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a healthcare setting
  • Must hold the highest level of licensure in the state, if applicable
  • Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status
  • Advanced HPMT certification status
  • Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and minimum state required auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Complete the music therapy assessment with patient and family when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care
  • Plan music therapy interventions
  • Guide the patient in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical function and quality of life
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with the patient and/or family
  • Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested
  • Participate as a counselor in the interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, assist with on-call rotation, and help with referrals and consents
  • Provide supervision to interns (as AMTA minimum requirements are met)
  • Participate on organizational committees
  • Support community outreach and education activities in partnership with Volunteer and Business Development
  • Support the bereavement program at the site level — facilitate bereavement groups, workshops and memorials

Required Certifications and Licensures

  • Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
  • Highest level of licensure in state, if applicable
  • Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status
  • Advanced HPMT certification status
  • Licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
