If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!
- Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and/or AMTA-approved program
- Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
- 2 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a healthcare setting
- Must hold the highest level of licensure in the state, if applicable
- Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status
- Advanced HPMT certification status
- Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and minimum state required auto insurance
Responsibilities
- Complete the music therapy assessment with patient and family when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care
- Plan music therapy interventions
- Guide the patient in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical function and quality of life
- Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with the patient and/or family
- Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested
- Participate as a counselor in the interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, assist with on-call rotation, and help with referrals and consents
- Provide supervision to interns (as AMTA minimum requirements are met)
- Participate on organizational committees
- Support community outreach and education activities in partnership with Volunteer and Business Development
- Support the bereavement program at the site level — facilitate bereavement groups, workshops and memorials
Required Certifications and Licensures
- Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
- Highest level of licensure in state, if applicable
- Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status
- Advanced HPMT certification status
- Licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
