Position
The Arlington Public Schools have an opening for a general music teacher at Dallin Elementary School. We are seeking a dynamic and talented music educator who demonstrates strong pedagogical, musical, and vocal skills. The teacher will work collaboratively in a team of motivated Dallin School and K-12 Performing Arts Department educators.
Responsibilities
- Teach general music classes for students in grades K-5.
- Teach chorus for students in grades 4 and 5.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and student-centered environment that motivates and engages students in music-making.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and participate in two-way partnerships with families.
Qualifications
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in Music PK-12 is required.
- Strong background in major elementary classroom music methodologies, singing, and elementary level repertoire and materials.
- Training in First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege is a plus.
- Demonstrates dynamic interpersonal skills and ability to engage students in a positive learning environment.

Requirements
- Hired as a teacher on the teacher's salary scale and will be a member of the Arlington Education Association, Unit A.
- All employees must have a criminal background check — CORI and Fingerprinting — prior to beginning work.
Salary and Benefits
Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association. The Salary Schedule is on our website. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience.
