Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Public Relations Rep to support the Communications Team within the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division onsite in Roy, Utah. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

What You’ll Get To Do

As the integrated communications lead, you will be responsible for advancing communication initiatives for employee and external audiences, executing strategic communication campaigns to educate and inform our employees and suppliers, and build informed public support for Strategic Deterrence Systems programs. You will uncover and promote compelling innovation stories, enable our cohesive employee culture through events and communication programming, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing and executing strategic media campaigns
  • Creating, writing and editing communications materials to educate and inform employee and external audiences
  • Providing crisis communications support and managing high-stakes media moments
  • Collaborating with digital, marketing, employee and program communications teams to ensure consistent, powerful messaging
  • Preparing written, video and graphic content for public release

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with five or more years of experience developing and deploying communications practices, or three or more years of communications experience with a Master’s degree; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Familiarity with SharePoint
  • Proven project management ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information clearly
  • Track record of developing relationships and collaborating with multiple diverse stakeholders
  • Experience writing memos, speeches and content for websites and/or social media
  • Experience in employee communications and overseeing or architecting strategic/integrated communications planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with ability to develop compelling presentations for executives
  • Demonstrated ability to consolidate and present data using measurement tools
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (SAP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace and defense experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field
  • Experience in a large, matrixed or geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to digest complex concepts and communicate them simply and effectively
  • Experience in the DoD industry with understanding of DoD business
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate consensus
  • Comfort with change in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Associated Press Style

Compensation and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $78,700.00 - $118,100.00

The above salary range is a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers various factors including scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Annual bonuses may reward individual contributions and company results. In VP/Director roles, Long Term Incentives may be available. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays and PTO.
