Role Summary
As our User Design Specialist, you will support all our research practices: executing participant recruitment, informed consent, screening, scheduling, and incentives. This role requires creative problem solving and strategic judgement to ethically recruit participants across the student journey—from early childhood to post-secondary education. You will help shape what excellent research operations look like in a mission-driven, experimental context, contributing to the broader culture of evidence-informed design at the Client.
Responsibilities
- Support research operations across the lifecycle: recruiting participants, managing a participant panel, scheduling, screening, informed consent, and incentives
- Lead ethical recruitment across the student journey (from early childhood to post-secondary education) with strategic problem solving
- Develop and standardize research operations to scale in a mission-driven, experimental environment
- Create documentation, templates, and lead internal workshops on best practices in research enablement
- Collaborate with teams to match participants to studies and train teams on processes
- Support qualitative and quantitative research methods across multiple products and user needs
- Assist with data collection and analysis tasks (note-taking for qualitative studies, preparing data for analysis)
- Work with tools such as Airtable, Dovetail, Qualtrics, UserTesting, Dscout, or similar; help decide on tools to meet teams’ needs
- Demonstrate strong project management and systems design skills; build scalable processes
- Exhibit excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
- Bring a creative, proactive, entrepreneurial mindset to improve research practices
- Uphold ethical research practices and protect user data privacy
- Adapt in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in research operations, UX research, or related program management roles
- Experience in research enablement — creating documentation, templates, and leading internal workshops
- Experience across the research lifecycle: recruiting participants, managing a participant panel, and training teams
- Experience supporting qualitative and quantitative research across multiple teams
- Experience supporting data collection and analysis: note-taking and data preparation
- Experience with tools such as Airtable, Dovetail, Qualtrics, UserTesting, Dscout, or similar; ability to select or justify tool choices
- Strong project management and systems design skills
- Excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
- Creative, proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
- Respect for ethical research practices and user data privacy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities
