Production Assistant

The Production Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the video team's daily operations, ensuring smooth production workflows from pre-production through post-production. By providing hands-on support both on set and remotely, the Production Assistant helps facilitate efficient, accurate, and creative content delivery. This role aligns with the company's commitment to collaboration, innovation, and high editorial standards, serving as a foundational team member who upholds the organization's values and drives its mission to produce compelling, reliable video content.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Supports day-to-day production operations across the video team, including logistics, research, and editorial prep.
  • Edits quick, snappy vertical videos to catch audiences up on the day's news
  • Spots and pitches stories that contribute to wide-range coverage of the day's news
  • Assists producers and editors in pre-production, production, and post-production tasks as needed.
  • Organizes production elements such as scripts, graphics, b-roll, music, and assets for easy team access.
  • Logs footage, pulls selects, and assists in fact-checking or sourcing media.
  • Prepares and maintains production documentation including rundowns, release forms, and shot lists.
  • Supports on-set or remote shoots by handling gear, slating, taking notes, or assisting talent.

The Essentials

  • Basic understanding of news Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong editorial judgment and writing skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Clear communicator and proactive team contributor.
  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and build a foundation in editorial production.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with production/editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere), willingness to learn workflows, interest in video platforms.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $40,870.00 - $75,901.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
