About Cedar Street Creative

Cedar Street is a full-service design and development partner for scaling brands. We help ambitious companies move faster, scale smarter, and build with confidence. With a focus on hospitality, food & beverage, and retail rollouts, we bring clarity and control to complex real estate and construction projects across the U.S.

The Role

We are seeking a full-time, in-person Project Architect to join our growing NYC studio. This role will focus on managing and producing architectural drawing sets for commercial interior fit-outs, particularly in the QSR and hospitality space. The ideal candidate is technically strong, deadline-driven, and comfortable owning a project from SD through CDs, permitting, and construction support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead drawing set development from schematic design through construction documents
  • Coordinate closely with in-house design and project management teams
  • Prepare permit sets and manage AHJ submittals with oversight from Construction Director
  • Own consultant coordination and integration (MEP, structural, lighting, etc.)
  • Participate in client meetings, site surveys, and field documentation
  • Perform code reviews, zoning checks, and accessibility analysis
  • Support RFI responses, submittal reviews, and construction administration tasks
  • Uphold brand standards across multiple locations and ensure design intent is executed

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial architecture (hospitality/QSR experience strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in Revit is required
  • Deep familiarity with code and permitting processes
  • Experience preparing coordinated CD sets and consultant packages
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
  • Skilled communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver
  • Professional degree in Architecture required; licensure is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of DOB and permitting platforms
  • Experience with rollout or multi-unit development
  • Knowledge of building envelope and base-building coordination
  • Experience mentoring architectural staff or working with offshore teams

What We Offer

  • An in-person, collaborative studio environment in NYC
  • Hands-on exposure to fast-moving projects and national brand work
  • The opportunity to shape design and delivery systems in a growing firm
  • A culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement

To Apply

Please submit your resume, portfolio, and a brief note explaining your interest. Final candidates will be asked to complete a short technical exercise.
