Job Summary

The primary role of the SAO Social Media Creator Student Clerical position is to write/create content for SAOs social media platforms, including daily social media updates, photography, graphic design, video reels, along with general office support when necessary. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in an office/student services environment. The SAO Social Media Creator Student Clerical position should work 10 hours per week. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor.

Position Responsibilities

Write, create, design and post social media content for Student Activities and Organizations
Exhibit friendliness, diplomacy, and tact in responding to customers
Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information
Responsible for all scheduled shifts (based on class/exam schedules for the semester)
Other duties as assigned

Prerequisites and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in student organizations and must have experience using Canva, Adobe, social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube; must have creative ideas and abilities; must be detail-oriented with good organization, communication and editorial skills; must be reliable, responsible, and flexible.

High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of one semester of college coursework successfully completed
Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
Must have experience using and posting content to social media platforms
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
Customer service oriented
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
Ability to work independently and with a team
Be timely and organized
