Mirantis is hiring: UI & Visual Designer, Lens in Germany

Overview

Lens is the world's most popular IDE for Kubernetes used by over 1 million software developers around the globe. We’re evolving Lens to the next level by refreshing our design system and every touchpoint of the Lens experience. We’re looking for someone who wants to own that journey. This is a foundational hands-on role. You’ll be our first dedicated UI / UX Designer, building the future of Lens design by doing the work and setting the vision.

Role focus: As UI / UX Designer you will shape the visual identity and design system, collaborate with product and engineering, and deliver high-quality interfaces and assets for Lens.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Lens visual identity—from product UI to marketing visuals.
• Spearhead the implementation of our design system, ensuring consistency and clarity across all parts of the Lens experience.
• Design world-class user interfaces, especially for complex developer workflows in Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape feature designs and improve usability.
• Create high-quality Figma designs, interactive prototypes, and production-ready visuals.
• Craft visual assets for the product, web, events, social, and wherever Lens shows up.
• Champion UI / UX quality across the organization and advocate for the user.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in product design, UI / UX, or visual design, ideally within fast-paced product organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement modern, intuitive user interfaces with a focus on developer tools or complex software products.
• A portfolio that highlights visual sophistication, design systems thinking, and polished execution with a style aligned to the clarity, precision, and modern aesthetic of Lens.
• Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, visual asset creation, and design system development.
• Strong collaboration skills with experience working closely with product management and engineering to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Familiarity with or interest in conducting user research and usability testing and applying insights to drive design improvements.
• Bonus: Experience designing for desktop applications or web-based developer platforms.
