Overview
The Senior Media Planner supports the development of effective, innovative, and strategic media solutions. This role oversees coordination and execution of approved media plans and provides guidance to other media planners and assistants. The position reports to the Media Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Produce work that delivers on client goals and seeks opportunities in media choice and usage to maximize visibility and impact.
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance of assigned accounts (billing issues, budget revisions, post-buy analyses, etc.) and maintain detailed records. Monitor media agreements and contracts with external vendors.
- Lead the development and direction of media strategies and points of view. Conduct media research, brainstorm, evaluate data, and apply media knowledge to client goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the client’s business, market priorities, and competitive landscape.
- Communicate effectively with the Media Supervisor and escalate concerns when needed.
Vendor & Media Evaluation
- Manage communications with internal teams and external resources to gather costs and plan details. Lead the evaluation of media partners for relevance to client goals.
- Understand the target customer journey across audience segments for various media vehicles to reach the target audience at each stage (awareness to loyalty).
- Analyze demographic data to identify target audiences for online advertising. Check calculations for forecasted results, reach, and frequency.
- Stay informed on media developments and trends. Maintain relationships with media vendors to ensure a positive representation of Noble People.
Campaign Execution & Maintenance
- Set campaign timelines and manage processes for client authorizations, vendor communications, and asset delivery.
- Approve insertion orders and placements with media vehicles.
- Use external data sources to analyze campaigns for optimization, planning, and buying decisions.
- Oversee digital campaigns via third-party ad servers; monitor pacing, delivery, placement, and flight-date accuracy; negotiate adjustments when needed.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to Planners and Assistant Media Planners to grow the team’s knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Media Planner or Senior Planner in a creative media agency.
- Proven experience managing junior team members (e.g., Assistant Media Planners).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with employees, vendors, and clients at all levels.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to deliver concise, strategic, and compelling media recommendations.
- Proven ability to build trust through sound creative, strategic, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients.
- Proficiency in media research tools and a clear understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
- Belief in bold, innovative, game-changing ideas and strong analytical thinking; ability to translate consumer insights into actionable strategies.
- Skilled negotiator with a track record of fair and effective deal-making; strong attention to detail.

- Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000 per year.
