We are seeking a talented and highly creative Web Developer to work with a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Newport News, VA area. The ideal candidate will have a foundational background in web development, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating user-friendly and visually appealing websites. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience. This position is located in Newport News, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of web applications using modern web technologies and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality web solutions.
  • Implement responsive design principles to ensure a consistent user experience across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in web development.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of web applications by implementing best practices and security measures.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to underpin objectives of producing high quality code.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for web applications, including code comments, user guides, and technical specifications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience as a Web Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing web development projects.
  • Proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Understanding of web standards, accessibility, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • IAT II certification required (e.g. Security+, Cloud+).

Desired qualifications (non-essential):

  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Experience with DevSecOps principles and DoD policies related to the topic.

Compensation

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $61,900.00 - $137,100.00.
