Overview

This opportunity is excellent for someone looking to position themselves permanently in the field of quality customer service and mid-level school management. The non-profit school has over 40 years of experience serving adolescents who have behavior, emotional, cognitive and learning disabilities. This position offers a chance to work with students, staff, outside agencies and families with a “can do” attitude. The position is available immediately.
Responsibilities
- Greet students, staff, and visitors and answer phones.
- Assist with attendance record keeping, compiling student and staff files, and monitoring records for billing.
- Coordinate accounts and collections; perform phone calls and filing; provide staff support and general office duties as needed.
- Operate with various personalities (parents/customers, co-workers, adolescents/children) and execute appropriate actions within the working environment; complete tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Support the day-to-day management of the child development program and administrative front office leadership; maintain open communication with campus and local community.
- Assist in planning, directing program workforce, health and safety needs, and social service needs of families; maintain rapport with parents and ensure open lines of communication.
- Assist with data gathering for reports and proposals; participate in ensuring collections and accounts payable processes.
Qualifications
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a MUST.
- Superior communication skills; bank teller experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage contacts with parents, relatives, and outside professionals; data entry experience; good computer knowledge (Word and Excel); excellent organizational skills.
- Team player and independent thinker; Bachelor’s degree preferred; some secretarial experience in a school is a plus.
- Self-starter capable of functioning in a high-paced, fast environment.
- Hours: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Mon-Fri); Saturdays required (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM).
Training, Timeframe and Benefits
- Salary: dependent upon education and experience.

Additional Duties
Under general supervision, develops and administers the instructional program and fiscal resources of the Children’s Center; provides leadership in day-to-day management, program planning, and staff coordination; ensures health, safety and social service needs are met; maintains open communication with parents and community; assembles data for reports and proposals; oversees finances including collections and accounts payable; performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Administrative/Professional)
- Equivalent to a Master’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
- Equivalent to five years of full-time experience teaching young children in a group setting, including one year of administrative experience.
- Meets State of California health standards for employment in a licensed Children\'s Center, including negative TB test; fingerprint clearance required.
- Thorough knowledge of child development theories, early childhood practices, business and administrative principles, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to deliver written and oral presentations, maintain fiscal accounting, analyze data, lead staff, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
