AECOM
is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to be based in Denver, CO; Oakland, CA; or Sacramento, CA. You will lead work on a variety of projects including, but not limited to: expansions of tailings facilities; spillway upgrade/retrofit concepts; hydro-pumped storage; storm water mediation; seepage water detention; and more. Responsibilities
Extensive experience with Autodesk Civil 3D through release 2022, with emphasis on complex surface modeling. Take general direction and engineer sketches to develop design criteria and progress through all design stages. Dams – Grading design and surface modeling for earth-fill, rockfill, conventional concrete and RCC embankments, quarries, spillways, outlet works, foundations and drains. Mining – Grading design, surface modeling and site development for tailing storage facilities, embankments, seepage ponds, utility corridors, waste rock piles, buttresses, ring dikes, underdrains, closure plans, instrumentation and monitoring. Civil/Site – Site development, access roads, drainage channels, dam-related works, slope stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, land development, surface drainage, and stream restoration. Prepare detailed calculation packages for earthwork quantities, reservoir storage capacity, and tailing storage. Process data sources to build existing base surfaces from LiDAR, survey points, breaklines, DEMs, and contours; understand coordinate systems and transform data between systems. Data management of survey and client data through the project life cycle. Meet with clients for kickoff, design reviews, and project closeout. Work under limited supervision; perform routine and non-routine, complex design work requiring judgment. Field and survey experience is a plus. Provide leadership and direction of CAD technologies assigned to the project team. Lead investigations, studies, and development of designs for large, complex projects focused on Dams and Mining. Prepare and present technical reports verbally and in writing. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Qualifications: Strong technical progression within civil engineering and design. Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards. Experience with: Civil 3D; BIM360; ProjectWise; Microsoft Excel; Google Earth; NavisWorks; ESRI GIS; Blue Marble Global Mapper or other GIS; InfraWorks; Vehicle Tracking; ReCap; MicroStation; OpenRoads; OpenGround; GeoPak; Revit.
