About Us:

Brewer Harris Projects is a nonprofit contemporary art gallery located in Upstate New York. Our mission is to exhibit and amplify diverse voices in the arts, focusing on artists of color, LGBTQ+ artists, and women artists, while enriching the community with engaging programming and events. A core part of our mission is to build mutually viable and sustainable partnerships with community organizations, creative agencies, museums/galleries, school districts, colleges, and universities throughout New York State and nationwide.

We exhibit a variety of art, including sculpture, painting, photography, film, video, works on paper, and fiber art.

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a dedicated volunteer grant writer to help secure funding that supports our exhibitions, public programs, and community initiatives. The position is part-time (35-40 hours per month) for three months, and possibly longer. This remote position is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to tailor your work schedule to fit your needs! It is perfect for someone passionate about art, culture, and community development!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with our mission.
  • Create persuasive grant proposals and narratives.
  • Collaborate with our team to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in grant writing and storytelling preferred.
  • Ability to articulate our mission and vision effectively.
  • Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
