Licensed Customs Broker Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate customs entries for ocean, air, and ground import shipments Review and verify documentation (commercial invoice, bill of lading, packing list, etc.) for compliance with U.S. import regulations Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Coordinate with customs officials, carriers, brokers, and clients to ensure timely clearance Ensure compliance with CBP and other Participating Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.) Track entry status, identify delays, and resolve issues proactively Maintain organized and compliant documentation records Manage billing and invoicing for customs entries Stay informed on customs laws, changes, and best practices Support clients and internal teams with entry-related questions and updates Who Were Looking For
1+ year of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset Interest in professional development and licensure Familiarity with ACE, ABI systems, and HTS classification a plus Seniority level
