Overview

The World Equestrian Center is hiring a Social Media Content Creator/Manager to join our team. This person is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the visibility and engagement of World Equestrian Center equestrian events. This role requires strong storytelling skills and a hands-on approach to content creation, including filming, editing, and publishing social-first content. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable behind the camera, in the editing suite, and managing online communities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic content plan for WEC-owned horse shows to maximize audience engagement, brand awareness, and revenue-driving conversions.
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube), adapting content for each platform.
  • Capture real-time photo and video content at horse shows using professional-grade equipment, ensuring compelling, high-quality visuals.
  • Film and edit short-form and mid-length video content (Reels, highlights, athlete/trainer features, behind-the-scenes coverage, etc.).
  • Deliver quick-turnaround edits for short-form content (Reels, Shorts, etc.) to ensure timely posting during and immediately after events.
  • Produce digital advertising videos and paid social content to promote WEC equestrian events, ensuring deliverables meet campaign objectives.
  • Work closely with the official show photographer to review and select images that align with social media storytelling and marketing goals.
  • Oversee daily social media engagement, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all equestrian sponsorship social media deliverables are fulfilled in alignment with contractual agreements.
  • Creatively integrate sponsor brands into organic content to maximize exposure and audience engagement.
  • Monitor, track, and analyze key social media metrics to identify trends and refine strategies for audience growth and engagement, leveraging data-driven insights and staying current with industry trends and platform updates to optimize performance.
  • Strong understanding of equestrian sports and horse show culture, including experience in the hunter/jumper industry (multi-discipline experience is a plus). However, applicants without direct equestrian experience may also be considered if they demonstrate an outstanding track record of high-level sport-related content creation.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in videography and photography using professional cameras and equipment (in addition to mobile devices).
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand, team, or event.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow followers and engagement across social platforms, with bonus consideration for candidates who can showcase increased revenue generation through social media efforts.
  • Experience creating content optimized for paid social campaigns.
  • Professional experience in video and photo editing using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred; however, candidates with expertise in other industry-standard editing software may also be considered.
  • Proven ability to film, edit, and produce social-first video content, including real-time event coverage.
  • Portfolio of work samples demonstrating experience in interviews, highlight reels, and social media-focused video content (submission required).
  • Proficiency in social media management tools.
  • Collaborative, solution-focused team player with a positive attitude and adaptability in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended event coverage as needed.
  • Equine (Hunter/Jumper) experience preferred.
