Overview

Arizona Midday—12News’ weekday lifestyle and client-friendly show—is hiring a Lifestyle Editor/Photographer who can craft eye-catching segments from pitch to publish. The ideal candidate is an artistic editor and shooter who understands how to tell engaging lifestyle stories and deliver measurable results for clients across TV, social, streaming, and digital.

Responsibilities

• Edit the daily show and create graphics; shoot and edit field and studio segments weekly (including short-form social cuts).
• Shoot informative, creative segments that achieve positive client outcomes and reflect brand guidelines.
• Partner with producers, hosts, sales, and clients to plan, storyboard, schedule, and deliver segments, series, and specials.
• Execute polished lighting and audio; capture strong sequences and natural sound for lifestyle and branded content.
• Juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Operate a range of production gear: broadcast ENG and DSLR/large-sensor cameras, lighting kits, audio, and support.
• Use EDIUS and Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) to finish content for all platforms.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, design, film, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating lifestyle/branded content, magazine-style or news feature storytelling.
• Proficiency in non-linear editing (EDIUS required; Premiere Pro highly preferred); basic motion graphics in After Effects a plus.
• Mastery of on-location production: camera, lighting, audio; ability to work solo or with a small team.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-service skills; solution-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Exceptional organization and time management; comfortable working under deadline pressure.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; ability to travel for on-location shoots as needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, and set up equipment (up to ~40 lbs.; occasionally more with assistance).

Nice to Have

• Experience with lifestyle/news magazine formats or commercial/marketing shoots.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator for simple graphic treatments and thumbnails.
• FAA Part 107 drone certification.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) to better serve our Arizona audience.

Work Location & Schedule

• On-site in Downtown Phoenix (this is not a remote role).
• Weekdays, with flexibility for occasional early/late shoots or special productions.
