Position Summary: As a Senior Publicist at BPM-PR Firm, you will shape and execute strategic PR campaigns for our clients. Reporting to the Department Director, you will be responsible for securing media coverage, building relationships with journalists and influencers, forming partnerships, and driving brand awareness across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of securing high-profile media placements, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of media relations and storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns to meet client objectives and goals.
  • Liaise daily with clients, in-house publicists, and the media.
  • Conduct outreach to build new relationships and networks within the media.
  • Monitor the media (newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, television, blogs) for opportunities for clients and for closed placements.
  • Pull researched media lists and conduct continuous online research to build new media relationships.
  • Collaborate with the department account team to develop client proposals and implement PR activity strategies.
  • Create monthly PR plans and strategies to guide campaign execution and align with client goals.
  • Craft timely media angles and pitches leveraging current events and trends to secure coverage.
  • Manage media samples, ensuring accurate inventory, timely distribution, and effective follow-up.
  • Communicate daily with the team to coordinate efforts and manage client workloads.
  • Prepare regular client reports and attend client meetings.
  • Create press releases and pitch letters, crafting compelling narratives to attract media attention and secure coverage.
  • Assist in researching, writing, and distributing press releases to targeted media.
  • Promote news stories and features to the media; collate, analyze, and evaluate incoming media coverage.
  • Ensure media placements are accurate and communicate coverage updates to clients.
  • Assist in event creation (press conferences and on-site events for fashion, beauty, entertainment, and general promotions) and participate in client events for media promotion.
  • Coordinate and manage client sample mailings.
  • Research and present client strategy, press releases, and media strategies to potential new clients.
  • Manage the PR and client aspects of potential crisis situations.
  • Supervise department interns and contribute to team development.
  • Prepare regular client reports and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations or journalism, with a focus on media relations.
  • Proven track record of securing high-profile media placements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong media relationships across various industries.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and measurement tools.
  • Experience with crisis communication and issues management is a plus.
  • Firm experience is preferred.
