About the Role
A well-established government contractor is seeking a skilled
Federal Bid & Proposal Writer
to join their team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and working in a fast-paced federal contracting environment. The role starts on a temporary basis with the opportunity to convert to a permanent position after approximately six months.
Key Responsibilities
Write and develop clear, compliant, and compelling federal proposals (RFPs/RFQs) Manage the full proposal lifecycle, from kickoff through final submission Collaborate with subject matter experts, capture teams, and leadership to produce persuasive content Ensure all proposal structure, formatting, and language meet government requirements and company standards Edit, proofread, and polish proposal content for consistency and impact Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of federal proposal writing experience Strong understanding of RFPs, RFQs, and federal contracting processes Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines U.S. Citizenship required Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen Schedule & Work Environment
Full-time, on-site in Fairfax, VA Standard business hours, Monday-Friday
