Overview

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is a short drive from Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations. The Department of Art & Design in the College of Visual & Performing Arts invites applications for part-time adjunct positions in Art and related fields in a faculty adjunct pool. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty are based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Course load will be taught primarily in-person. If online teaching is offered, completion of the Teaching Online Certification Course offered through Kutztown University is required. We seek applicants committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Art & Design and across the university.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Foundations (including Intro to 2D and 3D design), Drawing, Painting, Time Based Media, Photography, Textiles & Materials Studies, Weaving, Ceramics, Sculpture, Printmaking, and related courses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A MA or MFA degree in Art or a related area.
  • A strong professional portfolio of personal artwork.
  • A strong professional portfolio of student artwork.
  • Teaching experience of at least one year or job experience in the given field.
  • Successful interview and demonstration of relevant abilities are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience of at least one year or job experience in the given field.
