Overview
The Mortgage Account Executive provides support and information to new prospects and customers regarding mortgage products and financial alternatives available at FirstBank. Responsibilities include participating in product orientations and marketing promotions; analyzing customer needs for preliminary determination of financial eligibility according to product parameters; determining the appropriate product to meet the customer s needs; processing and submitting customer applications to Processing Unit; supporting the customer throughout the financing process; and developing a sales plan aligned to business objectives.
The role requires adherence to the Bank’s BSA, AML and OFAC policies. The employee must follow unit procedures and report any suspicious activity or transactions in accordance with Bank processes and training.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Develop and execute a strategic work plan for marketing and prospecting new clients.
- Organize and participate in activities with potential companies, conventions, special events and/or activities.
- Maintain leads updated in the Contact Manager System.
- Interview customers and evaluate financial eligibility.
- Fill and complete mortgage loan applications.
- Analyze prospects' information (income, expenses, credit) to determine preliminary eligibility and loan type.
- Assist customers in selecting the most suitable financing decision based on established needs.
- Gather pre-qualification documents and request payment for the origination process.
- Compile and organize client information by loan type and process documents to accelerate approval; may visit customers to obtain required information.
- Process and perform data entry of customer information in the mortgage system.
- Prepare customer files and deliver them to Processing Unit.
- Follow supervisor's instructions for contacting prospects/possible clients by telephone.
- Complete and participate in trainings, seminars and meetings as assigned for professional development.
- Work on special assignments and support other First Mortgage units as required; support management as requested.
Competencies
- Knowledge of Mortgage FHA, VA, RURAL, Conforming, and Non-Conforming lending process requirements and documentation.
- Excellent sales and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills in Spanish; English preferred.
- Use of marketing and advertising techniques to locate potential clients.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and mortgage applications such as E-3.
- Knowledge of mortgage regulations/industry.
What You’ll Need
- An equivalent combination of academic curriculum and experience may be considered for the job.
- Compliance with all requirements related to the CFPB’s Loan Originator Rule and the SAFE Act, including maintaining an active NMLSR identifier and completing continuing education as required by the Safe Act.
