Edúcate Ya is a Latinx nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to uplifting historically marginalized communities through culturally responsive programming. From language classes to community resilience programs, our work helps Latinx individuals and families thrive, connect, and lead.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and mission-driven Grant Writer to help secure funding that supports our expanding programs, including community health, environmental justice, youth development, and cultural placemaking. This role involves researching, writing, and coordinating grant applications while tracking outcomes and supporting other development activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research grant opportunities aligned with Edúcate Ya’s mission and current program needs
  • Write and submit compelling, culturally grounded grant proposals and LOIs
  • Develop grant budgets that align with organizational priorities.
  • Manage timelines, deadlines, and reporting requirements for active grants
  • Maintain a grants calendar and track all submissions and outcomes
  • Collaborate with program and leadership staff to ensure alignment across deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience writing successful grant proposals for nonprofit organizations
  • Strong writing, editing, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with budgeting.
  • Passion for racial, social, and health equity
  • Understanding of Latinx community needs, values, and strengths
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken) preferred

Compensation & Schedule:

  • $22/hr
  • Hybrid work available with at least 4 hours per week in-person at our office in SE Portland.
