Service Valet - Southern Mazda Newport News

Our Service Valets help keep vehicles in order and maintain a steady flow throughout the dealership and the shop. We need responsible, safe, and reliable team members to move and park vehicles as needed, keeping vehicles moving to and from designated areas when assigned or required.

The ideal candidate is at least 18 years old, has an unrestricted driver\'s license and a clean driving record, and can drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles. Previous experience is preferred. Fluency in English (speaking and writing), good time management, and professional appearance, speech, and behavior are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers entering the service area with a friendly, professional attitude, answers questions, and directs them to the appropriate person or location
  • Determines if customers have an appointment and records name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk-around)
  • Controls service traffic flow and parking, assists with loaner vehicles as needed, and parks vehicles after they are written up
  • Drives safely and reports any lot damage immediately
  • Retrieves vehicles for customers at Cashier for pick-up, waits at the vehicle for customers, and thanks customers for their business
  • Installs disposable protective coverings (seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, etc.) and ID tags in all vehicles brought in for service
  • Delivers keys and repair order copies to the appropriate Service Advisor immediately after parking a vehicle in the service parking lot
  • Maintains a clean and safe service area free of trash, water, leaves, and dirt
  • Drives vehicles to and from the service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed
  • Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
  • Completes any reports or logs and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Unrestricted driver\'s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service focus

Physical Demands

This is an in-person position and attendance is required. The duties may require bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
