The A+E Marketer (Marketer I) supports the promotion of arts and entertainment (A+E) initiatives within the College of Arts & Sciences (ArtSci). Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communication Strategy and working closely with the heads of the Departments of Art+Design, Music, and Theatre Arts and the Director of the Caine School of the Arts, this position coordinates and executes marketing and promotional efforts for exhibitions, concerts, plays, lectures, events, programs, and projects connected to the college’s arts and entertainment endeavors in the Caine School of the Arts and other units within the college as assigned.

Balancing the promotional service needs of arts and entertainment stakeholders, faculty, and other contacts with the strategic implementation and direction of the overall college marketing and communications strategy, the A+E Marketer serves as the link between on-the-ground support and institution-wide goals. Working closely with event organizers, venues, and members of the marcom team, the A+E Marketer implements established strategies, distributes promotional materials, and ensures campaigns align with ArtSci priorities and brand standards. The role also collects and utilizes data to inform promotional planning and to support ongoing improvements in marketing direction.

The ideal candidate is organized and collaborative with experience in the arts and has skills in coordinating projects, supporting events, and carrying out promotions across a variety of channels.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement marketing efforts for arts and entertainment events, projects, and initiatives within ArtSci.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, venues, and faculty to gather details, plan promotional timelines, and ensure visibility of A+E activities.
  • Work with the appropriate arts administrators and the marcom team to balance the promotional service needs of A+E stakeholders, faculty, and other contacts with the strategic implementation and direction established by the college marcom team.
  • Regularly communicate with the heads of the Departments of Art+Design, Music, and Theatre Arts, the Director of the Caine School of the Arts, and other event organizers/producers regarding the status of current, upcoming, and past initiatives.

Execution of Promotional Tasks

  • Execute campaigns created by the marcom strategy team, ensuring materials meet brand standards and project goals.
  • Support event promotion such as signage, collateral distribution, or coordinating with photographers/videographers.
  • Maintain promotional calendars, track deliverables, and oversee logistics for A+E marketing initiative.

Data Collection & Feedback

  • Capture attendance, engagement, and response data for A+E promotions.
  • Use data to evaluate campaign effectiveness and present options for future improvements.
  • Share insights with the marcom team, appropriate arts administrators, event organizers, and others as appropriate to refine overall marketing direction.

Collaborate with Team Members

  • Work with designers, writers, videographers, and the marcom team’s marketing specialist(s) to execute integrated campaigns.
  • Coordinate with and delegate tasks to interns or student workers supporting A+E projects.
  • Participate in marcom meetings to align efforts with broader strategies.
  • Engage with contacts in assigned areas to fulfill the vision and cultural implementation into A+E promotional efforts as it best meets overall marcom strategic direction.

Administrative & General Support

  • Support project documentation, budget tracking, and other administrative needs related to A+E marketing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the visibility of ArtSci’s arts and entertainment efforts.
  • Other promotional or administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, arts administration, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of professional experience and education. Interest in the arts and entertainment field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or promoting arts, cultural, or entertainment events.
  • Experience working with faculty, event producers, or venues.
  • Familiarity with data collection and reporting, especially for events or promotions.
  • Knowledge of promotional best practices for live and virtual events using print, digital, and other media.
  • Experience coordinating or delegating work to interns or student staff.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn, marketing and promotional tools (e.g., social media platforms, email systems, website content tools).
