Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, is hiring for our Office of Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) to play a key role in the AgentOps team at Pearson and help design the future of work with agentic AI tools and systems.
This is a role at the epicenter of our agentic transformation, influencing enterprise-wide decisions and empowering teams to unlock their potential with agentic AI tools.
What You’ll Do
- Champion Agentic Engineering
- Drive the state-of-the-art of agent-powered software engineering from prototype to production
- Rapidly engineer full-stack agent-ready applications, standalone agents, and agentic systems
- Develop Agentic Apps for Work
- Lead AI Engineer within AgentOps for custom agentic apps, tools and systems
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of agentic architects, UX prototypers and engineers
- Stay ahead of the latest agentic AI technologies, tools, processes and workflows
- Pilot emerging AI tools for research, design, prototyping, engineering and media creation
- Educate and evangelize across engineering teams about agentic engineering
- Facilitate workshops, hackathons, and masterclasses to drive adoption
Who You Are
- A passionate generalist, blending design and engineering
- A curious tinkerer, prototyper and builder with a portfolio of innovative projects
- An engineer with a taste for great design and a technical artist mindset
- A creative storyteller and multimedia expert who can tell stories through synthetic media
- An experienced developer across AI, XR, mobile, web, wearables
- An entrepreneurial “builder” who gets things done without supervision
- 5+ years of experience in service design, UX/UI design or product design
- 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development
- A portfolio of cutting-edge projects
- Expertise with React, Python, APIs and LLMs
- Experience with developing agents using no-code/low-code tools (e.g., n8n)
- Experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen)
- Proven experience developing products with multiple interfaces (voice, touch, XR)
- Proficiency with vibe-coding tools and AI-powered IDEs

Compensation and Terms
Compensation is influenced by factors including skill, experience, and location. Pay ranges vary by state. There is an annual incentive program where applicable.
The minimum full-time salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000. This role is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program; details on benefits are available.
