About the Role
We’re seeking a Social Media Manager (Volunteer) to bring Kōkūn’s mission and story to life on social media through creative, resourceful, and budget-conscious strategies. You’ll lead our efforts to shape Kōkūn’s voice across social platforms, grow meaningful engagement with our community, and design campaigns that raise awareness and challenge stigma around invisible conditions.

What You’ll Do
As the lead of our social channels, you will own the strategy and execution of our social presence.
Develop campaigns that elevate awareness, challenge stigma, and bring invisible conditions into public conversation
Shape a consistent and compelling digital voice that resonates with patients, researchers, and partners
Create content (graphics, short-form video, thought leadership posts, etc.) that resonates with our audiences
Monitor trends, analytics, and audience feedback to refine strategy and maximize impact
Find creative, low-cost, and organic ways to grow our reach and impact
Build and nurture an engaged online community, ensuring safe and inclusive spaces for dialogue
What We’re Looking For
Demonstrated experience managing organizational or professional social media accounts, ideally in nonprofit, startup, or advocacy contexts
Proven track record of creating campaigns that drive awareness and engagement
Strong grasp of LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter best practices as well as an understanding of emerging trends
Excellent writing and storytelling skills (across written, visual and video formats) and a strong eye for design
Strategic thinker who can connect day-to-day content with larger organizational goals
Creative, collaborative, and motivated by mission-driven work
Comfortable working in an early stage, evolving environment
