The Basic Function of the Adjunct Faculty Member is to provide academic instruction to students for the assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair or Program Director.

Representative Duties
- Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses
- Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students
- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills
- Evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes
- Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes
- Select instructional materials such as textbooks, manuals, software, and tools in collaboration with discipline faculty
Knowledge Of
- Current theory and practice within the subject discipline
- Principles and best practices of effective teaching
Ability To
- Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject field or discipline
- Deliver course curricula in various learning styles
- Exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of University students
- Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition.
Working Environment: Indoor classroom environment; subject to visiting a variety of classroom sites on campus.
: $32-$34.50 an hour
