Job Summary
The Student Choral Library Assistant is responsible for assisting in the organization, maintenance, and promotion of the choral library’s collections and resources. This role contributes to organizing and curating MGA’s vast collection of choral music and supports student and faculty access to scores, recordings, and digital archives.
Responsibilities
- Add titles to the digital catalog of the choral library
- Modify titles in the digital catalog of the choral library
- Place music scores in the choral library in appropriate storage packets
- Retrieve music from the choral library
- Create folders for MGA choirs using titles from the library
- Return used music to the choral library
- Other duties as assigned by the choir director
Required Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Be currently enrolled at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Enrolled as a student at MGA, preferably in Music or related field
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds
- Must be able to use a simple Excel file
- Ability to read a musical score is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability and professionalism in meeting commitments
- Familiarity with digital workflows and file management best practices
