Responsibilities

• Adhere to the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) scope of practice and competencies.
• Apply the therapy process in pediatric and adult sessions, designing musical interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve patients' psychological, physical, and social health.
• Provide bedside music therapy sessions and invite clients to interact, working toward established goals of care.
• Monitor clients during musical interventions and measure the effectiveness of sessions in collaboration with the inter-professional care team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy required; Master's degree preferred.
• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) certification by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Music Therapy, preferably in an inpatient/acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty certifications such as Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) and/or Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapy (HPMT) preferred.

Additional Information

This is a day position working at both the Sarasota and Venice Campuses. Starting pay is $23/hour.
