About the Role

As a CBRE Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the electrical integrity and operational readiness of commercial facilities. This position goes beyond basic electrical maintenance, encompassing generator systems, switchgear, UPS systems, and fire suppression infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability across a wide range of building systems.

What You’ll Do

Electrical Systems Maintenance

  • Perform generator maintenance, including fuel quality testing, load testing, and routine inspections.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot switchgear systems, air pumps, and UPS systems (preferred).
  • Conduct motor maintenance, including lubrication, alignment, and performance checks.
  • Install and maintain electrical cabling for outlets, switches, and fixtures.
  • Perform basic electrical maintenance such as replacing ballasts, fuses, breakers, and wiring.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in building systems and equipment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Apply LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures during maintenance and repair to ensure safety.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance on fire pumps and fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets local and national electrical codes and CBRE safety standards.

Preventive Maintenance & Documentation

  • Review historical maintenance records to create proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Support preventive maintenance schedules and document work through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Assure that equipment is maintained and operating in a safe and efficient manner.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Provide efficient and reliable service to customers and building occupants.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to support overall facility operations.
  • Explain complex technical information in straightforward terms to team members and stakeholders.

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3–4 years of job-related experience.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred as dictated by local electrical codes.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols, especially LOTO.
  • Familiarity with fire suppression systems, emergency power systems, and UPS systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages and commissions.
