Overview

Position Overview A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation – Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
  • Customer Service – Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain a positive relationship with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup works properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster the hotel/client relationship.
  • Technical Ability – Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Systems Knowledge – Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine scheduled equipment; interact with staff and vendors; assist with up-selling where applicable; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Internal applicants must meet training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program.
  • External applicants must meet and complete all training and certifications required for this position within one year.
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for team members that may operate Company vehicles.
  • Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Auditory/Visual Requirements include various vision/hearing capabilities as described by typical job standards.

Work Environment

Hotel or warehouse environments with possible exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt and dust; high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components; work may occur at multiple locations with irregular hours, on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply per Encore or host venue.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $15.09 - $18.49. Final compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, experience, and other factors; some roles may include overtime, bonuses, or incentives. Encore offers benefits options for employees; details are available elsewhere for worldwide benefits.
