Responsibilities
- Create digital graphics, motion graphics, and animations for courses, and presentations.
- Ensure all media meets accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to align multimedia assets with course objectives for both online and on-ground courses.
- Apply UX design principles to LMS course layouts, navigation, and media integration to improve usability and engagement across formats.
- Develop guidelines and templates for visually consistent, student-friendly, and accessible course design.
- Support the creation of interactive learning objects, simulations, and media-enhanced classroom activities.
- Contribute to the rapid development and deployment of multimedia and design updates to ensure large-scale courses remain current, engaging, compliant, and consistent.
- Manage and maintain multimedia equipment.
- Provide technical expertise in using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, and other media platforms.
- Assist with integrating multimedia and UX enhancements into the LMS and classroom technologies.
- Serve as moderator or technical host for cross-departmental events conducted in Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Provide live event support, including managing screen shares, breakout rooms, recordings, and participant engagement tools (polls, Q&A, chat).
- Produce accessible recordings of virtual events for later distribution or archival.
- Assist in creating departmental newsletters, reports, presentations, and other formal communications products.
- Design layouts, graphics, and visual assets that align with South College branding standards and accessibility best practices.
- Ensure all communication products meet accessibility standards (readability, alt-text, color contrast, screen reader compatibility).
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Digital Media, Instructional Technology, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
Experience
- 2 years+ of multimedia experience
- Demonstrates expertise in multimedia production, including video/audio recording, editing, motion graphics, and animation using applications like Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experienced with designing professional graphics and visuals for courses, presentations, and communications with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Applies UX design principles to LMS course layouts and media integration, with experience in LMS platforms such as Canvas.
- Ensures accessibility by producing WCAG-compliant media and communications, including captions, transcripts, alt-text, and screen reader compatibility.
- Demonstrates efficiency in rapid development to update and scale courses while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Effective communicator and has the ability to moderate and support virtual events through Zoom and Microsoft Teams, managing breakout rooms, polls, Q&A, and recordings.
- Collaborates effectively with faculty and staff and manages projects to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
