Overview

This large media and entertainment client is looking for a Senior Video Player Engineer (web), to design and implement core video player features for consumer facing applications across all the client’s networks. This person will work with both video on demand and live streams for sports coverage, news, and many other large live events on TV. You will conduct the design, architecture and implementation of player features on Web and web-based platforms (Chromecast, Xbox, Vizio, Samsung Tizen, LG, Comcast, and React Native while also delivering high quality video playback solutions and mitigating technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction across the digital audience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core video player features for consumer facing applications across networks and platforms.
• Work with video on demand and live streams for sports coverage, news, and large live events.
• Conduct design, architecture and implementation of player features on Web and web-based platforms (Chromecast, Xbox, Vizio, Samsung Tizen, LG, Comcast, and React Native).
• Deliver high quality video playback solutions and mitigate technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction across the digital audience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience with JavaScript, NodeJS, TypeScript, React Native
• Recent experience building components to support video playback, user interfaces, video metadata, and third-party integrations
• Video on Demand and Live Stream player experience
• Video Streaming technologies such as HLS
• Experience with video analytics platforms like Conviva, Mux
• Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing and end-to-end testing
• Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, Agile methodologies
