Samsung TV Plus is an industry-leading FAST (free ad-supported TV) and VOD (video-on-demand) service reaching 30 countries and over 600 million devices globally across TV and mobile. One of the first FAST platforms, Samsung TV Plus now offers more than 450 channels in the U.S. and over 2,000 channels globally, along with thousands of shows and movies on-demand. FAST is the fastest-growing video segment amongst consumers and FAST ad spend is expected to surpass that of Broadcast/Cable (combined) and SVOD within the next three years. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the exploding and ever-evolving FAST space and play a key role in driving the growth of the TV Plus business.

The TV Plus Content Team is looking for an experienced Senior Programming Manager to join our US/CA Programming team, responsible for overseeing a growing content portfolio, including a suite of O&O (Owned & Operated) linear channels. The role will collaborate cross-functionally with Partnerships/BD, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, and Product teams to develop and execute content strategies and programming decisions. The goal is to drive growth and engagement across all channels on TV Plus while enhancing the overall platform experience. Additionally, this role will work closely with BD in driving and informing licensing content selections for all O&O FAST channels and VOD.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage a programming vertical for first-party and third-party channels on TV Plus, ensuring the health and wellness of each channel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align programming strategies with business objectives.
  • Make programming decisions to drive growth, engagement, and enhance the TV Plus platform experience.
  • Analyze metrics to optimize channel lineups and viewer engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to all Standards and Practices across all channels.
  • Develop and implement creative programming initiatives to attract and retain viewership.
  • Assess content quality and audience appeal to align with platform goals, fostering relationships with content providers to expand the channel portfolio.
  • Contribute to TV Plus\'s growth through data-driven insights and creative solutions, identifying gaps in volume and audience preferences for FAST and VOD platforms.
  • Monitor channel lineups, competitor strategies, and market data to inform acquisition, scheduling, and partnership decisions, executing tasks, projects, and responsibilities as directed by leadership.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BA/BS required
  • 10 years of relevant experience in the programming, program scheduling, content planning, program management, and/or production
  • Experience working at the intersection of content and tech; deep knowledge of the OTT / FAST / Connected TV landscape
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to clearly and simply convey complex concepts
  • Familiarity with content acquisition and licensing processes.
  • Ability to identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders internally/externally
  • Ability to bring structure to large-scale, ambiguous problems
  • Ability to set priorities and creatively problem solve for several time-sensitive matters
  • Ability to adjust priorities/tactics/solutions based on a constantly evolving environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range Pay Transparency: Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York City, NY is expected to be between $180,000 and $215,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
