Overview
Seeking a seasoned Media Relations/PR professional to donate time and expertise to Disaster Accountability Project (DAP), a nonprofit providing long-term independent oversight of disaster management systems. DAP engages a dedicated community to advance policy research and advocacy, promote transparency, and encourage public participation in oversight, community-based organizing, and discussions about disaster preparedness and relief.
We aim to amplify the efforts of local disaster relief organizations around the U.S. and globally, ensuring resources for preparedness, relief, and recovery are effectively utilized and communities are engaged and more resilient.
Responsibilities
- Pitching and media list development to raise awareness of disaster relief efforts and the work of DAP.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in media relations, public relations, or related communications roles.
- Willingness to volunteer time and expertise for a nonprofit mission.
Engagement details
Volunteer role (unsalaried) with the potential to contribute at an Associate level. Referrals are encouraged.
