Essential Functions
- Tutors college preparatory students and college-level students needing help at all levels of the assigned academic discipline.
- Conducts orientations to the assigned area.
- Assists staff in assigned area with various tasks.
- Attends mandatory tutor training seminars and other meetings when scheduled.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Experience tutoring students.
- Demonstrated academic proficiency within the discipline.
- Personal and professional commitment to creating an atmosphere of quality instruction.
- English reading, writing, and speaking skills at the native level of fluency.
- Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
- Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
- Works in a classroom/lab setting.
- Flexible hours, days and assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.

Pay Benefits And Work Schedule
$14.00 hourly up to 26 hours per week.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY PART-TIME POOL POSITION. While a posting may exist on our website, there may or may not be a need at this time; however, submitted applications remain active for one academic year and are available for the Department to review as openings become available.
Conditions of Employment Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020.
