Purpose Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. They meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all that is required for their project, and build creative design concepts that incorporate the customers' personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience Degree in Design is a plus Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Proficient in basic mathematical skills Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position Essential Functions Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and store-generated leads Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions Manage multiple customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, using company communication tools Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals Support company initiatives and model best practices with store staff Engage with current and emerging design trends Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Limited travel by car may be required Work involves exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles, with moderate to noisy noise levels Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium work involving exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and other physical activities including standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and feeling.
