Graphic Designer at Griffin Media helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture. Job Summary The Graphic Designer is responsible for the implementation of visually engaging animations, and other design elements for Griffin Media divisions, including News, Marketing, and Sales. The primary focus will be broadcast design graphics using Adobe Production Suite and VizRT for News 9 in Oklahoma City and News On 6 in Tulsa. Additional digital design and coding skills are highly preferred but not required. This role requires a strong passion for visual storytelling, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Graphic Designer collaborates with the Marketing team to develop and implement designs that enhance the company’s online presence and support marketing campaigns. Job Responsibilities Designs graphics for daily newscasts, various promotions, community involvement, sales, and other assigned projects. Successfully manages deadlines and schedules to meet numerous deadlines and changing priorities. Design and execute contemporary and innovative broadcast, digital, and print graphics. Collaborate with the Design Manager and other team members to develop and execute creative concepts for various projects. Design and produce high-quality graphics, including logos, branding elements, promotional materials, and on-air graphics. Create engaging animations and motion graphics for broadcast and Digital platforms. Ensure all designs align with the company’s brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity. Work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in graphic design, motion graphics, and broadcasting. Provide support for special projects and initiatives as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Job Schedule This is a full-time position, primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. Our team is staffed Monday through Friday from 4:00am till 10:30pm and Saturday & Sunday from 1:30pm till 10:30pm. This position may be eligible to work remotely on occasion and at the discretion of the supervisor. Skills And Requirements Associate’s degree in graphic design, Web Design, Digital Media, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Years of related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of education. 3+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a broadcast or media environment. Solid design and conceptual skills required, represented by a strong portfolio. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro). Coding knowledge focusing on HTML5, Visual Basic, CSS, and/or Java Script preferred. Knowledge of VizRT or any 3D modeling/animation program is preferred. Experience with Adobe Premiere is a plus. Requires strong organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills. The ability to multi-task and manage a diverse workload is a must. Ability to perform well under pressure. Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design with attention to detail. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced & deadline-driven environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
