Position Overview KSL TV 5 is seeking a dynamic, engaging reporter to work on a part-time basis. This journalist will enterprise news stories for live-broadcast and our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will produce engaging and demonstrative live shots, conduct in-depth interviews and craft creative copy for broadcast, digital platforms and social media.
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site.
What You Will Do Enterprise, gather and write accurate news content for on-air broadcasting and digital presentation
Tell memorable stories in an engaging and authentic manner
Develop diverse news sources for general assignment and special areas of interest
Write and post daily on all digital platforms including social media
Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate effectively to create compelling content
Act professionally and courteously and dress appropriately for the event(s) assigned to cover
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills And Experience We Are Looking For Minimum five (5) years of commercial TV broadcast journalism/reporting experience or equivalent
College degree in related field, or equivalent experience
Willingness to accept responsibility and work under minimal supervision.
Ability to use initiative and show innovation in problem solving
Self-starter, capable of performing under pressure particularly during peak hours to meet job deadlines
Valid driver’s license and proven ability to safely drive company vehicle or personal vehicle
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures
Project and appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
Physical Demands Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment.
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
Compensation Rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
