Organization: Beausejour Active Transportation Committee. Our goal is to make modes of human powered transportation such as walking, wheeling, biking, etc., convenient, safe and accessible for all. We plan, coordinate and provide recommendations to Town Council for an overall Active Transportation system throughout the community so people can get from point A to B using human power rather than motorized vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Create, monitor and maintain the social media presence of the Beausejour Active Transportation Committee.
• Attend approximately 1 daytime monthly meeting.
• Work with the committee to create content and keep social media platforms up-to-date.
• Provide information to the Town of Beausejour so that the Active Transportation website could be updated.

Skills Required

• Write, edit and proofread engaging content for media posts.
• Take photos and implement information onto Facebook.
• Submit periodic articles to The Clipper Weekly.
• Maintain social media / photo / article records.

• Skills Gained: Writing, photography, collaboration with a board, maintenance of social media platforms, submission of articles / pictures to local newspapers.
• Related Careers: Creative communications, Photography, Online Content Management.

Eligibility

• Age: 16-17, 18-30, 31-54

Time Commitment

• Daytime, Micro Volunteering, Remote Volunteering, Flexible Hours
• Meetings typically held up to 2 hours once a month in either the AM or afternoon. Physical presence at meetings is preferred, but remote attendance is available.
