Overview
Konami Gaming is looking for a Technical Artist III to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Responsibilities
- Prepare data for game integration with fidelity to the artistic vision and within the platform’s technical limits.
- Align each game’s asset creation with the functional spec/graphic proposal and apply cost‑effective techniques.
- Handle complex setup of game art parts and collaborate with artists and engineers for effective implementation.
- Iterate and apply feedback with quick turnaround.
- Support art production workflow by writing scripts/tools to aid artists and identify new techniques and plug‑ins.
- Follow company art direction and production pipeline and propose improvements.
- Develop game art on multiple platforms (proprietary engine and Unity), handle data setup and support implementation improvements.
- Produce particles, shaders, and other VFX for Unity applications.
- Efficiently solve problems, communicate, and educate team members as needed.
- Proactively self‑train to remain at the forefront of Unity engine technology.
- Analyze industry trends and provide input on art design from a player’s perspective, including field research trips, online methods, and attendance at trade shows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Game Development, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of related experience and/or training, 3+ years with cross‑functional teams creating multimedia‑rich games, 1+ year in Unity. Slot gaming experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with all business levels.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Gaming licensure(s).
- Experience supporting development, maintenance, and improvements to art production workflow/pipeline.
- Profiling and performance optimization of applications (problem‑solving skill).
- Knowledge of interactive game art standards (UI/UX design and appeal).
- Photoshop, Unity engine, and C# experience required; Animate, Illustrator, and Maya desirable.
- Microsoft Excel and Word experience required.
