Job Summary
This position provides police services, emergency medical/fire services, radio and paging services, and administrative communication service to the university community.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct police, parking, and facilities personnel via radio, paging, and telephone systems to calls for service by answering phones and monitoring radio and alarm systems; track officers and calls via the Computer Aided Dispatch System and record relevant information.
- Query and monitor National and Colorado crime information systems for data requested by officers and other law‑enforcement agencies; query vehicle registration information for Parking Services and criminal history information for police.
- Release police records to the public and other law‑enforcement agencies in compliance with state and federal records laws; process reports and data entry into the records‑management system; distribute copies of police reports to appropriate outside agencies and campus departments; perform receptionist duties at the lobby window, including releasing requested forms and applications, taking money and issuing receipts for reports and fingerprinting, and advising personnel of meetings/appointments.
- Train and supervise student employees and answer the university switchboard.
Residency Requirement
This position is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of relevant experience in a related occupation.
- Completion of an authorized Communication Training Officer Program or equivalent can substitute for the required experience.
