Overview
This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast‑tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai’i.

Shift Work
Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Plans and supervises the operation of a large public library.
- Supervises and participates in the selection, development and maintenance of a collection of materials in one or more broad and complex subject area(s).
- Develops, plans, coordinates and evaluates a major area of library services (i.e., children/young adult services) on a statewide basis.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law).
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four‑year college or university.
- Three and one‑half (3‑1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or more major functional areas of librarianship (selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification, collection development and maintenance, reference and readers' advisory services, or development and promotion of library services).
- At least one year of experience comparable to the Librarian IV in state service.
