Job Summary

Supports activities of the Marketing Department, coordinates internal and external communication and activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of the content strategy for all SMH communication platforms/channels.
  • Manage SMH social media channels through advanced planning, graphic design, posting messages, and analytics review.
  • Support marketing campaigns and service line development by creating effective, branded graphics and content for internal and external channels (websites, social media, YouTube, collateral, email, online advertising, and print advertising).
  • Support marketing efforts through timely management of planning platforms used (e.g., Trello).
  • Assist in tracking spending and weekly/monthly review of the Marketing/Communications budget.
  • Assist in production (including designing and printing) and distribution of marketing materials (brochures, business cards, etc.).
  • Assist in production and distribution of staff-related communications (print and digital/email).
  • Encourage and demonstrate behaviors supporting a culture of kindness at SMH among employees.
  • Participate in hospital events; represent SMH & Marketing Department at community events as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with administration and staff to plan staff activities and events; promote them to staff via various communication tools.
  • Coordinate with patient relations and volunteer services on events/activities.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, provide project/activity updates and input regarding hospital and departmental matters.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience/Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of communications, marketing or related community experience, preferred.

Additional Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, email marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong creative skills.

Specific demands not listed: Possible exposure to blood and/or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and latex products.
