Video Producer – Center for Teaching and Learning, Johns Hopkins University.
Responsibilities
- Creates public health video content aimed at domestic and international learners, including short‑form, documentary‑style videos produced for and regularly published online in Course Plus, Coursera or other CMS/LMS platform.
- Manages project budget and deliverable deadlines for individual projects.
- Collaborates with the broader production team to manage multiple video production projects from start to finish, often on tight deadlines.
- Provides client consultation, needs assessment and metric development; develops concepts, treatments, storyboards, scripts; performs field and studio producing, interviewing, and editing of the final product.
- Occasional travel for location filming.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 lbs or less.
- Ability to push and pull objects weighing 40 lbs or less.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Five years’ experience creating editorial video content in television news, corporate branding, non‑profit or similar fast‑paced environment.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience; education beyond a high school diploma may substitute per JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Reporting or segment production background.
- Live event or production switching experience, especially with NewTek Tricaster.
- Experience in VR or XR media production.
- Experience with Sony FX9 production camera.
- Experience with field lighting, lighting design, motion graphics and animation creation.
- Basic understanding of asset management and production workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Demo reel available.
Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications
- Experience utilizing video production equipment (cameras, lights, audio equipment) and post‑production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Tricaster).
- Experience designing and developing AR/VR projects for clients.
- Experience with common broadcast production equipment and protocols (e.g., network switchers, AVOIP, Dante, Crestron, TCP/IP, NDI).
